The Courses

Murcar

Murcar Links is an attractive 18 hole course situated on the coast of Aberdeenshire, 10 minutes from Aberdeen city centre with superb views across the North Sea.

Host club for the 2021 Scottish Men’s Amateur Championship.

A European Tour venue, having hosted the Saltire Energy Paul Lawrie Match Play in 2015. In June 2018 Murcar Links hosted The R&A 123rd Amateur Championship qualifying rounds. Murcar Links has risen to No 96 in the Golf Monthly Top 100 courses and 47th in Scotland’s Top 100 courses 2019 by National Club Golfer. The judging panel highlighted ‘some great holes, scenically and strategically’, whilst the overall verdict was ‘enjoyable whether in the dune valleys or near the sea’. The course, originally designed by Archie Simpson and revised by James Braid, it is located on a classic stretch of links land with massive sand dunes, undulating fairways, and is covered in whins and heather with some magnificent views across the North Sea. Playing Murcar Links is a truly memorable and rewarding experience where each hole offers its own challenge. We hope you will enjoy the experience and treasure the memory.

Fraserburgh

Founded in 1777 and one of only 18 Clubs who can trace their origins to the 18th Century, originally a 9 hole layout at the Links at Fraserburgh prior to relocating to its current location in 1891 and enjoying a James Braid re-design in 1922.

The Par 70, 6318 yard Corbiehill Championship Course offers golfers off all standards a truly authentic links Golf experience. The layout provides a memorable mixture of holes that allows players to play all the shots required to master a true links test. The 18- hole Championship Corbiehill course reputation is growing at home and abroad & one of the best golfing experiences in the North East of Scotland.

Newburgh on Ythan

Newburgh on Ythan Golf Club sits nestled between Cruden Bay Golf Club 5 miles to the North and Trump International Aberdeen 5 miles to the South. Founded in 1888 as a 9 hole course which later grew to 18 holes in 1994 with the addition of a new front 9. In April 2001 the long awaited completion of a new purpose built clubhouse situated between the 1st and 10th tees was officially opened by 1999 Open Champion Paul Lawrie.

The course regularly features in Scotland’s Top 100 Courses and is situated on one of the best golfing coastlines in the UK. Some may say its overshadowed by the bigger and more well known courses of the area but its no wonder its been described as a “Hidden Gem” and is enjoyed by many a golfer from near and far.

“Blind shots, fast fairways and punch bowl greens make it a must play.”

– Golf World

Montrose

The 1562 course (5th Oldest Links Course ion the world) provides a unique and demanding game, with undulating fairways and fast greens, which are only made more challenging by the course’s exposure to the natural elements, in particular strong easterly winds blowing inland from the North sea.

Set against the backdrop of the rugged Angus Coastline, the 1562 is a classic Scottish links course with a variety of testing holes and stunning scenery throughout.

The natural beauty of this course is what truly sets it apart, providing a raw, truly authentic and exciting golfing experience for all those who stand up to the tee.
